PCAN-USB CANH and CANL

Post by Trainee » Wed 25. Feb 2015, 12:43

Hello,

I have a PCAN-USB adapter that I wanted to use to communicate with a Roboteq brushless dc motor controller. The Roboteq controller propose a CANopen protocol, and on the 9-pins I/O connectors, pins 2 and 7 is configured to be CANH and CANL.

My question is : How can I connect the PCAN-USB to the Roboteq controller? I read somewhere that a 120ohm resistor is needed but I don't really know how to connect it. Do I have to connect only the CANH and CANL pins?

Hi,

you need a terminated CAN cable with 120 Ohms on both ends between CAN-H and CAN-L.

Michael
