Bus Termination on PEAK Mini-PCIe module

Post by benyong » Wed 6. Jan 2016, 07:15

Hi,

Is it possible to terminate the CAN Bus on the module?
e.g. by soldering a resister on it?

Thanks
Ben

on the miniPCIe module itself, it is not possible. But the pluggy module with the SUB-D connector have the space to solder a Resistor between CAN-H and CAN-L (but it is not a "real" PAD)

use a termination block - this is the way you official have to do
a termination should be always part of the cable - not of the device!
If you ever replace in a CAN Network a device you do not know if it is terminated or not!
Device = no Termination, Cable = Termination
