Not able to receive sent CAN messages in PCAN-VIEW

Post by akshay1392 » Mon 1. Feb 2016, 10:33

Hello,

How can I set the PCAN-View to receive the messages that i am sending ?
I have connected PCAN-view to PCAN-PCI Express card. Thus, the CAN data is sent by express card and is seen in the trasmit list but the receive list shows no messages. I am attaching the screenshot for your reference.

PS: I have set the message filter correctly for reception of messages.

Kindly, help me out.

Regards,
Akshay

Hi,

CAN doesn´t offer a selfreceive option by default, so you won´t see your own transmit messages in the receive list. As a workaround, you can start a second instance of PCAN-View, than you will see your transmit messages from the one instance in the receive list of the other instance of PCAN-View.

regards

Michael

The PCAN-View could be used to send CAN-Messages on the BUS, and show the received CAN Messages from the BUS. You could not vsee your own send CAN Messages (for more info how CAN work - see Wikipedia CAN )
You will only see what other nodes send on the CAN-BUS. If no other node sending on the BUS, or if you have select the wrong Baudrate, or no second node is active on the BUS etc. you will not see any CAN Frames.
