Overrunn error

Post by esun95070 » Wed 16. Mar 2016, 20:53

Hi,

I am having continuous overrun events even there is no CAN message on line. Please advise.

To duplicate:

1. System communicates properly with on one device and PC (PCN-USB)
2. disconnect USB from PC. A message is shown on PCAN-View Trace 'Hardware plug-out'
3. reconnect USB to PC, A message is shown on PCAN-View Trace 'Hardware plug-in:PCAN-USB'
4. Starting from this time on, the Trace windows will continuously show OVERRUN while no message is on CAN bus.

Device Driver Version: PCAN_USB 4.0.18.15889
PCAN-view Version is 4.0.31.444

Thank you.

Eric

EDIT:
Additional information:
There are two PCAN-USB on CAN Bus, the second PCAN-USB was powered on but not used. It seems the problem does not occur if the other PCAN-USB is removed from line.

Please read CAN Wiki.
A CAN Bus need minimum 2 actice CAN nodes ! If no second node ACK the sendet CAN Frames you get Errors, and the CAN Controller get in BUS OFF state (you need to reset the Controller). There are many post here in the forum - try the search function.
