Firmware compiling & upload

Post by lucie.levillain_motor-e » Tue 5. Jul 2016, 15:12

Hello,
I have some troubles with my PCAN - MicroMod Digital 1 and I hope you may help me !
I'm trying to reprogramm it in order to add a delay ( Reception of 3 CAN messages) before controlling the outputs.
I think I can not use MicroMod Config to do that, so I tried to download my own C programm in the card. But I can not find the compiler (Softune WB) because the spansion website has changed...

Moreover, when I tried to load one .bin file of example given with the DVD - pcanmicromod\Develop\Examples\Demo04_Rx_Callback\ABS\MM_Demo.BIN - with PCAN-Flash (and a PCAN-USB Pro) it gave me an error :
Binary data file not supported from Hardware !
And I have no Evaluation Board so I guess I can not use the Fujistu FLASH MCU Programmer...

Can anyone help me please ?
Thanks !

To flash a MicroMod with your own firmware, you need to use the serail port downloader.
FUJITSU FLASH MCU Programmer (FMC16LX).
The MicroMod is not supported by CAN2Flash (Flash via CAN). If you do not own a MicroMod Evaluation Board, you could not connect via RS232 - the MicroMod CPU Module is TTL only!

Here some info from our manual:
  • The PCAN-MicroMod contains the microcontroller MB90F497 by
Fujitsu (now: Spansion). With the C development environment
Softune Workbench (available separately from SPansion) you can create
    own firmware for the PCAN-MicroMod.
Website of the microcontroller manufacturer: http://www.spansion.com

Thank you for your fast answer. I will buy an Evaluation Board.

I just have one more question, is there other compiler than Softune Workbench to compile C code before flashing it on the board ? Because I can not found this compiler to download.

Thanks a lot.

Hi,

you can get this softune compiler for the Fujitsu/Spansion MB90F497G from your local distributor of Fujitsu/Spansion microcontrollers (at no extra costs here in Germany, could be different in other countries).

best regards

Michael
