Cannot flash PCAN Router Pro using PPCAN-Editor

Post by Grousseau » Thu 18. Jan 2018, 15:16

Hello,

I try to flash in a PCAN Router-Pro a configuration I created using PPCAN-Editor. The software is not able to detect the router:

Detecting target hardware...
Detect finished !

However, when I open the software PCAN-Flash, my router is well detected. I precise that every switches are on OFF inside the router, and that I connect the router using a PCAN-USB.

Can you help me with my problem ?
Thank you.

PPCAN-Editor is for creating and download a Configuration to the PCAN-Router Pro.

PCAN-Flash is for change the Firmware of PCAN-Router Pro
(for example, if you need ti update firmware, build your own with our LIBS etc.)

These are two completly differnet thinks! What exact do you need or want to do?

Thank you for your reply. What I would like to do is to download the configuration in the router; however, it is not detected by the PPCAN-Editor.

Hi there.

Assuming you are using a PEAK CAN interface and terminated cable,
please do the following:
Please close all PEAK software on your PC.
Open PPCAN-Editor
In menu Tools-> Options-> CAN select "Use hardware connection"
Connect to PCAN-Router Pro with 500kbit/s (any of the 4 ports).
IMPORTANT: when changing the CAN port please do power off/on !
Open PCAN-View connecting to that same hardware.
in PCAN-View you get a warning that bitrate cannot be changed.
Start tracer and record the DETECT from PPCAN-Editor
We want to see what is sent to the router and what comes in return.
Then do the same with PCAN-Flash (Router port #1 only).

What OS is installed on your PC (e.g. Win10pro-x64)?
