How to connect PCAN-USB to PCAN-MIO

Post by yhadad » Wed 5. Dec 2018, 18:31

Hi,

I have a PCAN-USB and a PCAN-MIO automotive model. I have created a wire tap into the PCAN-MIO with a female DB9 port interface so that I can connect the PCAN-USB to it. The DB9 cable has two wires (PIN 2 and PIN 7). The wires that I have coming out of PCAN-MIO are (1=VE, 3=Wake-Up, 13=CAN0_H, 14=CAN0_L, 15=CAN0_H, 16=CAN0_L, 17=GND).

Which PINs do I need to connect from PCAN-MIO to DB9 PINs (2 & 7)?

Kind Regards,

Yousif

Hello.

CAN0-H and CAN0-L are double just for chaining with a second device. They are connected internally.
Connect any CAN0-H with Pin 7 and any CAN0-L with Pin2.

Activate termination switches, or solder a 120 Ohm resistor between Pin2 and 7.

Connect 3-WakeUp with 1-VE to have the MIO always on (never in sleep mode).

Connect 17-GND with PC-GND (chassis).
