Communicate with single wire vehicle bus system

Post by Steve » Wed 19. May 2021, 21:03

Hello,
actually I'm looking for a device, which is capable to communicate with a 12 V single wire vehicle bus system.

Unfortunately I'm not 100 % sure if it's really a LIN-compatible bus system. Please see attachment, where I recorded one master message and the slave response. This repeats then every 100 ms.

If this is not a LIN-Bus, would it be anyways possible to use PLIN-USB interface as a slave device in this bus system?
Basic task is to wait for the master message and then send a pre-definded (recorded) slave message.

Thank you in advance!

Hi Steve,

this signal does not look like a LIN bus nor a CAN bus signal. This looks like a PWM signal. So it will not be possible to use the PLIN-USB for such a signal. Who is the manufacturer of the vehicle with those bus signals?

Hello Michael,

this is a 2018 Subaru WRX STI .
It's the communication between seat occupancy sensor/control unit and airbag control unit.

Do you have any other device, which is able to "simulate" slave response?

Hi,

no, we don't offer any devices which are able to simulate such signals.
