Hi,
I'm encountering challenges while attempting to request data from an NXP slave device using PLINViewer as the master. Here's a breakdown of the issue:
Problem Description:
When configuring PLINViewer as the master and attempting to request data from the slave device, I'm facing difficulties. I've set up a new frame in subscription mode, sent the frame, and simultaneously monitored the LIN line using an oscilloscope. However, I'm not receiving the correct ID during transmission. The oscilloscope is capturing a same 6-digit number as the ID[0x3f635547] for different ID transmission, and I'm not receiving a reply from the slave.
Observations:
Interestingly, when sending data in publisher mode yields correct ID and data from the slave device in the oscilloscope.
1. Is it possible to request data from a slave device using master mode in PLINViewer?
2. if yes, why i'm not able to capture the ID value on the oscilloscope and it's shows 6 digit number?
Attached the image for reference. Any insights or guidance on troubleshooting these issues would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

Hi,
which PLIN hardware do you use? Did you power the LIN slave device and the PLIN hardware with the same power supply? And yes, it is no problem to send subscriber frames with PLIN-View Pro.
regards
Michael

I'm using PLIN-USB: IPEH-004052, PLIN-View Pro - Version 3.2.0.174
yes, I connected a same power supply(12V) to Slave and PLIN hardware.
PLIN viewer Publisher mode get the correct frame value on the oscilloscope. In subscription mode I'm sending 2 digit number(0x15) as ID. but it's shows 6 digit's number(0x3f635547) as ID on oscilloscope.
Thanks and Regards

Re: Regarding LIN Communication Issues in Master Subscription Mode with PLINViewer and controller
Hi,
please read LIN spec to understand how the physical LIN signal looks like. In your case, there is no response from your LIN slave, and you just see the raw LIN data with break field, sync field (0x55) and protected identifier.
