Hello All,
Good day.
I have a query related to compatibility of PCAN Router Pro FD with ISO - J1939.
We have purchased a product (PCAN Router ProFD) for Gateway functionalities.
It's working fine same product we are planning to use for another feature where J1939 standard is used.
As we know J1939 standard used for heavy vehicles (truck)
We would like to understand PCAN Router Pro FD is compatible with ISO-J1939 standards.
Thank you,
Query regarding compatibility (J1939)

Re: Query regarding compatibility (J1939)
Hello,
J1939 is a higher layer protocol, technically all devices that adhere to the CAN spec are compatible.
If you ask if we do have J1939 Implementation:
Yes, we offer a J1939-Addin for PCAN-Explorer 6:
https://www.peak-system.com/PE6-J1939-A ... .html?&L=1
Regards
Marvin

Hello Marvin,
"Thank you for your quick reply.
Are you suggesting that we need to purchase add-ins to support J1939 with PCAN Router Pro FD?
Could you clarify the use case of PCAN Explorer 6? Is it a plugin, hardware, or a simulator?"

Hello Dinesh,
"Are you suggesting that we need to purchase add-ins to support J1939 with PCAN Router Pro FD?"
J1939 is available as an Addin for our software PCAN-Explorer 6, which is a CAN Analytics software.
like i said, technically all our PCAN-interfaces are compatible but without the right software stack it will not be easy to establish communication on a J1939-Bus.

Re: Query regarding compatibility (J1939)
Hello Marvin,
Thanks for your inputs.
Current scope is to transmit/receive the messages from J1939 application project.
The exact scope now is to change "Standard" to "Extended" CAN for J1939 application project.
Extended CAN contains below details which are fixed to an ECU.
Priority
Extended Data Page
Data Page
PDU Format
PDU specific
Correct me in case my understanding is wrong!
Mit freundlichen Grüben,
