PCAN-miniPCIe FD Not Detected on Jetson AGX Orin (Devkit & Forge Carrier) — Possible Power or Pinout Issue?

Post by fenasikerim » Wed 28. May 2025, 20:05

Hello,

I'm trying to connect a PCAN-miniPCIe FD card to a Jetson AGX Orin, both on the NVIDIA devkit and on a Forge carrier board, using an M-key to miniPCIe adapter. Unfortunately, the system does not detect the card at all — running lspci -vvv returns nothing.

Interestingly, when I test the same PCAN card on a Jetson TX2 with an Elroy carrier board, it works as expected and is detected directly over PCIe without any adapter.

I compared the pinouts of the Forge and Elroy carrier boards and noticed some differences. For example, in the Elroy schematic, I saw multiple 1.5V power rails in addition to the standard 3.3V — which might be relevant.

Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find the pinout or power requirements for the PCAN-miniPCIe FD card. My questions are:

Where can I find the official pinout or power specs for the PCAN-miniPCIe FD card?

Does the card require a 1.5V supply in addition to 3.3V to operate properly?

Has anyone successfully used this card with the AGX Orin devkit or Forge carrier?

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance.
