Event Based Messaging

I am unsure how exactly the format of event based messaging works in the PPCAN editor, as there is no documentation on it in the user guide. I have attached the screenshot of the options available. My question is how this works? If I have Bus0 and some symbol that contains data, is the event type ...

Re: Motorola bit format incorrect

I am not sure what changing the start bit to 7 will do. Here are pictures of that configuration, with the problem still persisting. if we are in the same format (moto to moto) from input to output, and are copying the exact same bits, the message comes out different. switching from intel to motorola ...

Motorola bit format incorrect

I have run into an issue with the PPCAN-Editor. If you are trying to remap bits, it works normally if you are using intel bit format. The example I have provided takes in a message, creates a variable that is 16 bits long and starts at byte 0 and bit 0. Then on CAN-2 I output a message with a ...

Re: PCAN Router Not detectable

I built a connector day that has pins 6 and 9 bridged together, along with the CAN Hi and CAN Lo, with proper 120ohm termination, and am still unable to get the PCAN-USB tool to detect. Still becomes bus heavy the second I try to detect modules. Am I missing something? Is the software in the device ...

Re: PCAN Router Not detectable

I appreciate the quick response. I am a little confused by the wording in the manual. I am supposed to have pins 6 and 9 bridged when I plug the router in? If so that would require making a special Dsub connector for this application with the pins bridged, or am I wrong and there is an easier way to ...

PCAN Router Not detectable

Cannot seem to find any way to get my computer to detect the PCAN Router. Using detect module I cannot find it under PCAN-View, PPCAN-Editor, and if connected to a CAN network there is no bus traffic coming through it, no LEDs flashing.

If I switch the terminated DSUB connector from the PCAN ...

Re: No way to detect PCAN Router Pro

solved my own problem, the resistor inside the termination cable I was using was not properly soldered.

No way to detect PCAN Router Pro

I have not been able to detect my PCAN Router pro in any setup. I have tried to detect it using PCAN-Flash and PPCAN-Editor, following the provided manuals. From my understanding to use PCAN-Flash I must connect the Router Pro Port 1 to my computer with a PCAN-USB (which I have done).

I have ...
