PCAN-Explorer or PCAN-View Virtual Driver

Post by rampinia » Mon 28. Oct 2013, 17:40

Hello,

I'm not able to connect either PCAN-Explorer or PCAN-View to a net onto Virtual Driver.

If I look at Network Configuration utility I can see Virtual->Internal->TestNet (my net).

But if I try to connect using PCAN-View or PCAN-Explorer I get all nets except nets on Virtual Driver.

What I'm doing wrong?

I'm using

PCAN-View version 3.2.3.221
PCAN-Explorer version 5.3.1.794

I just want to correct my post. PCAN-View is able to detect virtual-driver. I can see Internal->TestNet@Virtual on the connection Windows.

PCAN-Explorer I can only see USB tab on the connection Windows.

Thanks

Hi,

please post a screenshot of the connection dialog of PCAN-Explorer, maybe the virtual driver tab is just out of sight, and you have to use the two buttons in the top right corner to scroll to the virual driver:

HI,

ok, now I think I know why you didn´t see the virtual driver. You have already a PCAN-USB connection in use in PE5, than PCAN-Explorer could only connect to another USB connection, and not to a connection of another device. You simply have to remove your connections in your project, or start a new project, to have access to the virtual driver.

BTW: you are using an older pcan_usb.sys driver 3.5, please update to version 3.8.2, by installing the latest PeakOemDrv.exe: http://www.peak-system.com/produktcd/Dr ... OemDrv.exe
