I am trying to view CAN2.0 messages sent from an embedded MCU on PCAN-view. I have a scope connected to the bus decoding CAN frames as well. I have verified that my embedded device can receive messages from PCAN-View, and I have verified that electrically everything is in order (bus levels, time bases).
As part of my testing I have sent a simple message FROM the PCAN-view terminal to the embedded HW and recorded the waveform. Its acked by the embedded HW and i can see it in embedded memory. Thats all good.
I then send the same message (same ID, DLC, payload...) back from the embedded device to PCAN-view. On the scope i can see that the waveform is identical, so I know i'm sending exactly the same message with the same timing. I also see PCAN-view ACK the message. However nothing appears in the Receive/Transmit window.
I have the acceptance filter set to accept everything. I have both embedded and PCAN setup for 125kbs with 80% sample points. How is it possible that PCAN-view acks a message (indicating to me the message validity) but doesnt display anything? Any help/pointers are hugely apprecaited.
Im running PCAN-view 5.0.5.871

- is the Bus is terminated? If yes how?
- what exact are you see in the PCAN-View Status Line?
- run the Tracer and set Error logging also active - what do you capture?

Terminated with a 137Ω resistor on the embedded HW.
